February 2008 Construction Photographs

This year the team worked on finishing a house for Salvador Martin Martinez and his family in San Victor. The house had been partially built with concrete block walls at some time in the past and stood in this condition for many years. The goal of the team was to complete the house. Our team finished the stucco coating on the interior and exterior and the carpenters added a roof. Although it still needed windows, doors and a floor when we left, money was provided to complete the house by the Belizean construction crew.

The stucco and paint team then moved on to a project of painting the interior of one of the primary school buildings. The paint crew also painted the exterior of the Fernando Martinez house which had been built in San Narciso in 2007 with funds provided by our mission.

At the same time, Luis Escalante, a Belizean electrician, and a team helper rewired this school building which houses two classes and the teachers office. The rewiring corrected a major problem with lack of electrical grounding which is essential for protection of the office computers. Luis also installed three ceiling fans in another school building and installed a security light between the restrooms and the pre-school building.
