Financial Support

If you cannot join us on a trip to Belize, you can still be part of the mission by providing direct financial support.  There are two different programs available.

Direct Financial Support - Over 50% of the funds used in the construction mission come from the team members themselves as part of the trip fee.  However, the balance of the budget comes from support contributions.  Send checks or money orders marked "Belize Mission" at anytime payable to: Lewisburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 7, Lewisburg, OH  45338-0007.  Donations are acknowledged by regular donation statements including a statement at year-end that can be used to substantiate a chartiable deduction if you claim it on your tax return.

Each One, Reach One (Belize) Program - The EORO Belize program allows donors to directly support an individual family in Belize.  As a donor, you provide program administrators with guidelines on the type of assistance you prefer.  These guidelines generally include educational funding of tuition or supplies or may include family housing improvements or both.  Once matched with your Belizean family, you will be provided photographs of the family and you are encouraged to provide photosgraphs of your family to give to the Belizean family.

Primary school tuition fees in the San Victory R. C. School are $30 US per year per family.  Secondary school tuition varies depending on the school they attend.  The tuition ranges from $175-250 US per year per student.  Housing improvement costs vary significantly depending on the improvement.  A 5 gallon bucket of latex paint will cover the inside and outside of a typical house and costs only $45 US.
